Reflective Inquiry Classes
I developed Reflective Inquiry classes for people who are seeking more clarity, confidence and ease in their every day lives whether for personal or work-related reasons.
One hour-long Reflective Inquiry classes offer a focused time to pause and take a gentle self-sustaining breath during the day. They provide a safe space for people wanting to settle into personal reflection; a space that helps us gain access to our resilient inner self-support systems.
The classes invite a deep recognition of the innate resources and potential that we all possess, strengthening our ability to tap into these when we most need them in our everyday lives.
The class approach draws from a somatic approach to coaching that invites the felt experience of our bodily presence which is more direct than our thoughts about any particular situation. Conceptual knowing based in our habitual thinking patterns only takes us so far in understanding ourselves.
From this felt experience of presence, new space arises in the mind so that your most effective next action steps become more apparent.
Each session begins with a brief guided meditation and gentle breathing which settles us into our embodied presence.
A reflective topic or self-inquiry question is presented, such as “What are some ways you are fully present in your life?” or “What nourishes you lately and what doesn’t?”
The theme presentation is generally followed by small group breakouts of 2 or 3 people to further explore the inquiry question.
These brief sessions allow us to hear ourselves speak our experience in the moment and to fully hear the experiences of others. This exchange can help disperse the isolating sense we sometimes have that says “I’m the only one with this problem or this feeling.” It opens our awareness to new ways of perceiving situations and to genuine interaction, deeper listening and self-awareness.
Weekly drop-in classes are ongoing and are open to interested individuals or small groups.
